Trevor has had a successful and varied career that has focussed on the development of strategic plans and then the implementation of those plans both personally and as a consultant in change management.
The initial phase of his career in the public sector provided an excellent grounding in the tools and techniques of management and allowed these to be tempered by the associated development of personnel management skills and the enhancement of his leadership abilities
As a consultant Trevor developed effective relationships with principals in government agencies, oil companies, public bodies, consultancies and universities. A strategic member of the senior management team contributing to the development of its strategic plan and in many cases leading the response to the changing financial and political climate within the HE sector. Important elements of those changes related to ensuring the institution responded to its changing markets, capitalising on all opportunities including securing a return from IPR and the formation of partnerships with government, companies and other institutions at regional, national and international level. This involved participating in national trade missions led by government ministers and the negotiation and operation of major collaborations with overseas governments and companies.
